Software boxes (POSA)
The best just got better:
the software box
The software box is virtually the same as a common Amaray box - what exactly is the difference?
The software box is an example of point of sale activation (POSA). Like a POSA card, the software box is also protected by an inactive, secret code which is not activated until the product is paid for at the checkout. This protects the product from theft. The purchasing experience for the end customer remains the same. The familiar box form also means that data carriers and all other relevant contents can be included as well.
Basically, the software box is a risk-free version of the Amaray box. It is of no value until the item is purchased at the checkout and the code is not activated until it is purchased. The code can then be used to obtain the product online.
